RE: New Energy-Efficient 1-Story Plan in San Marcos Bigelow Homes recently announced a new energy-efficient and affordable one-story model at its Blanco River Village in San Marcos, where homes start at $108,457. The grand opening festivities were Saturday, March 6. The new 2,020 square-foot Brazos model is one of three one-story plans at Blanco River Village. The home features an exceptionally open floor plan with a great room, dining area, three bedrooms and two baths. Prices for the Brazos start at $173,133. “This home will be perfect for anyone who wants the relaxed comfort of single-level living and energy-efficient features at a price that’s down to earth,” said Jamie Bigelow, president of Bigelow Homes. Bigelow Homes is so confident that their green, energy-efficient homes save homeowners money, they guarantee that cooling costs won’t exceed $400 per year for the first three years. For homes over 1,900 square feet, the cooling guarantee is $600 per year. The monthly savings can give homebuyers approximately $8,000 - $12,000 more buying power while keeping their overall monthly payment the same as if they had purchased a less energy-efficient home elsewhere. Energy-saving features include: light shelves (see sidebar); carefully installed insulation; weather stripped windows and exterior doors; and double pane low “E” windows. Blanco River Village also offers:
Recreation – next to Quail Creek Country Club and walking distance to the river. ## |
